Disclosures: how we make money
Senior Care Scorecard is free to use. Here's how we pay for it, and the rules we follow. Last updated October 17, 2026.
The short version
Some pages may show labeled sponsor boxes, ads or affiliate links. We may earn money from them. None of it changes a score, grade, ranking or inspection finding.
Affiliate links
Some links to products and services, such as medical alert devices or senior living advice services, are affiliate links. If you buy or sign up through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Next to these links you'll see a note that says "We may earn a commission." Affiliate partners don't review or approve what we write.
Sponsors
Businesses can sponsor a city guide, a town or area page, a statewide category or our free guide, and can add a sponsored partner profile page. Sponsored content is always labeled "Sponsored" or "Sponsored partner," links to sponsors are marked as sponsored, and it's kept apart from ranked lists. Sponsors can't influence scores, grades, rankings or what we say about any facility. We don't currently accept sponsorships from facilities we rate.
Advertising
We may show display ads from ad networks. Ads are chosen by the network, not by us, and showing an ad isn't an endorsement.
What never changes
- Scores and grades come only from public Medicare (CMS) and state data, using our published method.
- No facility can pay to change its score, rank or position in a list.
- We correct errors when they're reported, whether or not anyone pays us.
